Babymoon time

A lot of people ask me if it’s worth it to go on a babymoon. My answer is always (and without fail): yes absolutely go, are you joking, get out of here right now, go go go.

So yeah, I’m a big fan of the babymoon.

If you can afford it—and if you can take the time off work—I think you should definitely treat yourself to a babymoon. Having a baby—being pregnant, delivering that baby and then taking care of it for, you know, the next eighteen years—is hard. Physically, it’s demanding. Emotionally, it’s exhausting. And if you thought your days of manual labour ended when you stopped working at Macca’s in high school . . . prepare to start all over again. I remember about six weeks after Oscar was born, I was changing his nappy one day and realised, Oh shit. This is never going to end. I am going to be changing his nappy seven times a day—on a good day—for the next two years.

So yeah, go on the babymoon.
